ILGE conferences in 2019

In 2019 the INU held two conference focused on intercultural learning for global engagement. ILGE conferences were hosted by UNPAR, Indonesia in March 2019 and Malmö University, Sweden in September 2019.

Emphasizing the importance of developing intercultural competencies of students, as well as of teachers and staff, Intercultural Learning through Global Engagement brings together theorists, practitioners, and researchers in the area of intercultural learning. The purpose of this initiative is to identify intercultural learning resources and best practices within Higher Education Institutions to support each other efforts in equipping future generations with skills for living and working in a globalized world while also applying those skills in a local context.

Institutions together with external delegates, shared approaches to intercultural learning through global engagement. Member institutions presented short films on how students and staff perceive intercultural learning were shown, and in designated workshop sessions future directions and activities of interest were discussed.
