INU is delighted to announce the allocation of £2,500 of Seed Money Funding (Phase 1 – New Projects) towards a new online collaboration between INU members, De Montfort University (DMU) in the UK and Universitas Katolik Parahyangan (UNPAR) in Indonesia.

The project, entitled ‘Business in Global Citizenship: Creating Innovative and Responsive Collaboration for Lifelong Learning’ will be carried out with module preparation, a series of webinars, and delivery to train students to think critically and innovatively in facing challenges in the business world in a competitive and collaborative manner.

The project seeks to:

  1. Establish the baseline level of business culture awareness among students in the partner universities;
  2. Enrich the exposure of the students to business culture in diverse contexts;
  3. Evaluate the students’ knowledge of business culture in different contexts after the module; and
  4. Create a sustainable knowledge exchange platform for staff and students in the partner universities

The webinars which will focus on two areas; Creativity and Innovation and Innovation for Social Learning; will help to create a platform for sustainable long-term virtual exchange between the two institutions.  This proposal seeks to strengthen the collaborations that have been established between UNPAR and DMU as a result of a recent INU Researcher Mobility Program visit in 2023. The proposal focuses on expanding the collaboration network to involve more staff members in the two universities, and to create opportunities for engagement with staff members in other INU member universities. Moreover, the activities under the proposed project will enrich the exposure of the students to business culture in diverse contexts.

Project lead, Daniel Hermawan commented that “Seed Money Funding gives Universitas Katolik Parahyangan and De Montfort University an opportunity to learn and collaborate with members, also extending our project to bigger collaboration. Hopefully our project “Business in Global Citizenship: Creating Innovative and Responsive Collaboration for Lifelong Learning” has the potential to inspire young individuals to explore creative ways of using technology to constantly enhance their entrepreneurial mindset.”

INU Council were pleased to support a sustainable, online program which benefits both students and staff, and which address INU values such as global citizenship.

We look forward to seeing the outcomes of the project and how the collaboration grows going forward.
