INU Council met for the 42nd INU Council meeting in Argentina from 6th-8th October 2026 hosted by INU member university, Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL) in Santa Fe, Argentina. The meeting addressed the shared challenges of internationalisation, the impact of geopolitical shifts to higher education, and the role of INU in enhancing internationalisation strategies and global engagement opportunities for the mutual benefit of member universities, students and staff.
Special thanks to our colleagues at Universidad Nacional del Litoral for your warm hospitality in hosting this event, sharing your campus and your city with us, and for showcasing your internationalisation strategy, COIL activities and medical simulation centre as part of the visit.
INU Council also benefitted from meeting with faculty and students from UNL involved in INU activities, from research projects to COIL collaboration to student mobility, these meetings demonstrate the real impact of the network and working collaboratively in a global sphere, underpinned by the same shared values and mutually-supportive approach to global collaboration.

The commitment of INU members to expand, enhance and deepening the impact of the network, which goes above and beyond what an individual university can achieve on its own, is unique to INU and reflective of the strong ties between member universities working together to enhance global engagement for all.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the European-University Viadrina (Germany), Universität Osnabrück (Germany), James Madison University (United States), Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Spain), Stellenbosch University (South Africa), University of the Free State (South Africa), Malmö University (Sweden) and Kingston University (UK).
