The INU is governed by a Council in which each Network member has a seat. Each member is entitled to one vote per institution on proposals presented. Membership on the Council is institutional. The Council is chaired by the INU President. The presidency of the Network is currently held by James Madison University (JMU), Harrisonburg, VA, USA, for the term 2012 – 2015.
The INU Council meets twice a year. The Spring meeting mainly serves to plan an discuss the summer student program and update on any other ongoing activities. At the Fall meeting the group decides on the annual plan for the next year and assesses activities and reports of currently programs. The Council also meets – if possible – during the EAIE Conferences, which are usually held in September. The meetings are hosted by the member institutions on a rotating basis.
The 17th INU Council Meeting will be held at Malmoö University (MAH), Sweden, March 3-5, 2014.
Universitas Katolik Parahyangan (UNPAR) in Bandung Indonesia was hosting the 15th INU Council Meeting, March 15-17, 2013, with all members present. This meeting particularly focussed on the upcoming INU events in Hiroshima in August and a roadmap for project on the concept of “Global Citizenship” in cooperation with the Center of Higher Education Internationalisation (CHEI). The 16th INU Council Meeting was held at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC), Milan, Italy with Universitat Rovira i Virgili and Kyung Hee University excused. Discussed were the advances on the “Global Citizenship” project as well as the expansion of INU projects for the next year.
The 13th INU Council Meeting was held in Tokyo, Japan, during the first INU Conference, March 5-8, 2012. All ten INU member universities were present during the meeting. The 14th INU Council Meeting is scheduled for October 24-26, 2012 at the campus of Asia Pacific University (APU) in Beppu, Japan. all INU members have registered at least one representative for the meeting.
The 12th INU Council Meeting 2011 was held at James Madison University, USA, October 30 to November 2, 2011. Eight of the eleven member universities were represented and reported on the Network activities on the first meeting day. On the second day, the Council decided on the strategic plan and activities for 2012.
The INU Council Meeting 2010 was held 25-26 October at Kyung Hee University’s Global Campus, Republic of Korea.
The 2009 INU Council Meeting was hosted by Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan Italy on 21-22 September. Council members met for two days, to discuss and evaluate the year gone and to prepare and plan for INU activities for the year to come.
The 2008 INU Council Meeting was hosted by Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Japan, November 12-13, 2008.
The 2007 INU Council Meeting was held in Malmö on 18 September.
The INU Council Meeting 2006 was hosted by La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia, November 13-14, 2006.
The 2005 Council Meeting was hosted by Jönköping University, Jönköping, Sweden.
The 2004 Council Meeting was hosted by Harbin Medical University, People’s Republic of China, October 19, 2004.
The 2003 INu Council Meeting was held in Hiroshima on October 28, 2003.
The 2002 INU Council Meeting was hosted by Sichuan University, Chengdu, People’s Republic of China, October 29, 2002.
The 2001 Council Meeting was held at La Trobe University on November 21, 2001
