INU Academic Committe

The Academic Committee of the INU was formed in November 2007 in Kyoto and comprises representatives from almost all INU member institutions.

Its focus is on the development of the INU Joint Master's Program, including the Master's Summer School, in Global Citizenship and Peace, and the promotion of research links between academics affiliated with the INU, particularly in the area of international studies.

Structure of the Academic Committee

The Academic Committee consists of the Research and Curriculum Sub-Group, the Administrative Sub-Group and the Steering Group.

 

INU Academic Committe - Structure

Research and Curriculum Sub-Group The Research and Curriculum Sub-Group consists of academics from INU Member Universities. The group works with development of curriculum and planning of workshops etc.
The Administrative Sub-Group The Administrative Sub-Group consists of one administrator per member university and its role is to support in questions regarding credit transfer, collect information on courses and disseminate information within the home university on the Joint Master's Program, Master’s Summer School and the Student Seminar in Hiroshima.
The Steering Group The Steering Group consists of the chairs of the two sub-groups, a representative from Hiroshima University and an overall chair, currently Associate Professor Andrew O'Neil from Flinders University.

The Committee last met in Malmö in March 2010. The next Academic Committee meeting will take place in Hirishima in August, in conjunction with the INU Student Seminar and the INU Master's Summer School on Global Citizenship.
