This November, three staff members from Nelson Mandela University in South Africa visited James Madison University as part of the INU’s Staff Shadowing Program. During their time in Virginia NMU’s staff visited and shadowed JMU’s staff in counseling services, student orientation, IT support, and digital marketing. Shereene Knipp, NMU’s Coordinator of First-Year Orientation, remarked about the experience, “Visiting JMU was a good learning and enriching experience and a wonderful opportunity to network with an international partner. We value the opportunity for sharing good practice.” Both the sending and hosting universities, seeing how each institution manages administrative duties, benefitted greatly from the cross-cultural experience. All INU members are invited to participate in the INU Staff Shadowing Program.
