INU for Refugees

INU Statement on Refugees and Displaced Persons

Considering that displacement has been a global problem throughout human history—and in regard to the recent dislocation of millions of people in the Middle East and North Africa by violence, war, persecution, and political turmoil—the INU commits itself to focusing its global and local engagement, scholarship, and teaching activities on initiatives that address both the short-term and long-term consequences of displacement and migration on individuals, systems, and the environment.

Research and Ongoing Projects

Universitat Rovira i Virgili’s Centre for Study of Social Conflicts (CECOS) proposed to INU an interdisciplinary collaborative research project titled “Migration Movements in a Changing World: Challenges and International Management.” This comparative research project, focused on challenges brought by global migrations, is an open invitation to research centers and scholars from INU institutions.  Please contact the INU office with a name and contact information of an interested scholar, researcher, and/or research center from your institution.
