About the university

Malmö University was founded in 1998 and has about 20 000 students and approximately 1100 employees. Malmö University welcomes approximately 200 incoming exchange students each year from all over the world.

All courses and research at Malmö University are organized into six different faculty areas. These are all multi-disciplinary, which means that several scientific fields meet under one roof.

Location

Malmö is the commercial centre of southern Sweden and an international city. This is expressed, not least, by the fact that Malmö has 265.000 residents who speak some 100 languages and belong to 164 different nationalities. Malmö is part of the expansive Öresund region. The two countries, Denmark and Sweden, are connected by the Öresund Bridge - a 16km long road - and rail link that stretches from Copenhagen to Malmö.
