About the University
Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR), located in Bandung, province of West Java on the Indonesian archipelago, seeks to combine the pursuit of academic excellence with the service of mankind. Their mission is to foster an innovative and world-class research community that constantly implements its findings to uphold human values. To this end, UNPAR uses a multidisciplinary approach and ensures its results are shared with other institutions.
Originally founded in 1955 as the Paranhyangan School of Commerce, it was renamed Parahyangan Catholic School in 1958 when it diversified to include a faculty of law. It now has a total of seven faculties, including economics, law, social and political science, engineering, philosophy, industrial technology and mathematics and natural sciences, six master’s programs and four doctorates. In addition, UNPAR hosts a Research Institute and a Community Service Institute. While the former promotes international standards across all research projects, the latter coordinates the many community services run by UNPAR, including legal aid, financing and management of business, training in computer literacy and community organisation to empower the local community.

Research Strengths
UNPAR has five centers of research located within their respective faculties and coordinated by the Research Institute. These are broadly grouped under the titles study of emerging markets (CSEM), policy and management (CPMS), business studies (CEBIS), international studies (PACIS) and European studies (PACES).
