From 2013 to 2015, MEXT funding through Hiroshima University allowed the INU to offer the Nursing Workshop. Although the INU does not have support for this program in 2016, the impact of the Nursing workshop was significant. The assessment results suggest statistically significant change in the participants’ knowledge about disaster nursing, their ability to compare disaster and health educational systems in different countries, their ability to apply their knowledge of the role of nurses in a disaster to an explicit setting, and their ability to communicate their ideas across a variety of settings.
